This infographic is not about immigration law, visas, citizenship, etc. However, it is a topic that is close to my heart - recycling. I'm fairly obsessive about keeping my home and business as "green" as possible - storing copies of filings electronically, recycling everything that is recyclable, composting, and using eco-friendly products. How does your country rank on this list?
Recently I wrote about the Department of Homeland Security's report on visa overstays. I found this infographic that shows the overstays by country. I bet that not many people would expect that our Canadian neighbors would be number 1 in this immigration violation!

Democratic watchdog organization Freedom House recently released its annual rankings of the world's most suppressed nations, finding that global freedom is under pressure. A plethora of crises in 2015 led to harsh crackdowns on dissent by authoritarian regimes around the world as well as increased levels of xenophobia in democratic countries.
Freedom House found that global freedom has declined for the tenth year in a row. 72 countries experienced a decline in freedom while only 43 made gains. In 2016, 40% of the world's population is considered free with 24% partly free and 36% not free.
